Is there a free trial?
You can use Lightworks for free forever if you want, so no, there’s no free trial, just a completely free plan. Just sign up, download Lightworks and start editing. We will need you to log in at least once every 90 days, but that’s it. Completely free, forever!
The free plan is great for small projects and learning the editing ropes, it has everything most people will need and you can export unlimited videos in 720p.
Why should I pay for Lightworks?
If you’re a content creator, marketer, creative, filmmaker or video pro, or if you just want your video to look as awesome as possible, there are some features and tools that will make your life easier and video shinier in our paid plans, Lightworks Create and Lightworks Pro.
How can I pay for Lightworks?
We try to make this as simple and flexible as possible. All we really need is a credit or debit card. All you need to decide is if you want to subscibe to your chosen plan, either monthly or yearly (bonus: if you choose yearly, you save the equivilent of 2 months!!) or go for the Perpetual license, which is a one-off payment.
What do you mean by monthly and yearly subscriptions?
Subscriptions are super easy and give you access to the most up-to-date version of Lightworks with all the cool new features all the time.
If you choose to subscribe to a monthly plan, you’ll pay monthly on the anniversary of the date you first signed up. Yearly is similar, but yearly! It’s all automatic and you don’t need to do anything.
Don’t worry, we don’t tie you in to contracts or anything mean like that, it’s a simple pay-as-you-go service.
What is a Perpetual License?
Subscriptions aren’t for everyone, that’s cool, so we also offer perpetual licences too.
A perpetual license means that you have Lightworks to keep forever. It’s a one time payment. You’ll get the version of Lightworks that is available at the time of purchase and will have access to all updates of that specific version (eg, right now we are on version 2022.1 You will be able to upgrade for free to v2022.2, v2022.3 etc but not v2023 or similar - this may require an additional cost).
How many activations do I get with Lightworks?
Two as standard. One to use and one as a backup.
But we realise that some people use more than one computer, and that from time-to-time people upgrade computers, spill coffee over computers, mis-place laptops etc etc. So, it’s not a hard and fast rule. If you’ve used both activations and something comes up that requires a third, just ask… we’re quite nice people here at LWKS!
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Absolutely! We know not everybody needs to be able to edit videos forever, sometimes a month is all thats needed so we try to make this as simple as possible. All you need to do is log in to your account and turn off the subscription auto-renew. Easy! You’ll have access to all the premium features until the end of your billing period.
What is your refund policy?
If you change your mind and haven’t activated your licence within 48 hours of your transaction, just let us know, we’re happy to help.
If you’re curious and just want to try Lightworks, there is a completely Free plan, we recommend you try this first.
We reserve the right to decline refund requests if you have activated the software.
