Each project carries its own settings, opened from the project's settings panel. They're organised into tabs - this article maps what lives where, so you know where to look when a behaviour needs changing.
Details
The project's identity and housekeeping: Name, Creation date, Custom Metadata, and location.
Video
How video is played and output, in three groups:
- Output - display and rendering behaviour, including GPU Precision (8-bit or 16-bit processing; use 16-bit for finishing).
- Letterbox - project-level letterboxing of the output picture.
- Formats - per-format decode options for the file readers in use, including Apply VFR correction for variable frame rate media (see Media formats and technical settings).
The video page is also home to Playback Media Quality, which controls whether originals or proxies are played (see Proxies and performance media).
Audio
Audio configuration for the project, including the sample rate. (This tab appears when advanced audio setup is enabled.)
Media Files
Where the project's media lives and how it's managed - material drives and locations for copied, converted, and generated media (see Media management).
Tasks
The Tasks page shows the project's background work - imports, exports, proxy generation, archives - with progress and a log (see Batch export and background tasks).
Project settings versus application settings
If a setting should follow the project (frame rate, media locations, playback quality), it's here. If it should follow you and your machine (appearance, layouts, shortcuts, hardware), it's in the application's Settings menu (see Application preferences).
